Simple Ayurvedic Morning Routine for Fresh Breath, Whiter Teeth and Better Digestion

Did you already guess which practice I'm talking about?

The practice is called Oil Pulling and that's the first thing you do in the morning if you would like to improve the bioflora of your mouth and upper digestive tract, have fresh breath and healthier, whiter teeth.

Oil pulling also increases energy levels as a result of the detoxifying action of the practice. The immune system gets a boost and the hormonal system is assisted in functioning in a balanced way. On top of that, oil pulling has been proven to be beneficial for a variety of skin issues AND to reduce headaches. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!

How to do oil pulling?

Within the first 5 minutes of waking up (before brushing your teeth), take a teaspoon of cold pressed virgin coconut oil in your mouth, and swish around the mouth for a minimum of 5 and maximum of 20 minutes.

Whatever you do, don’t swallow the coconut oil as it will pull the bacteria and toxins from your mouth and tongue.

When you are done, spit out the oil and immediately brush your teeth and clean your tongue.

PS. If you are not a fan of coconut oil, the practice can also be done with virgin sesame or olive oil.

PPS. I knew you'd ask: yes, oil pulling has indeed been scientifically studied. To date, there are 21 oil pulling research studies reporting on the health benefits. Check them out!
